The Coordinating and Development Corporation (CDC), originally chartered in 1954, is a private, nonprofit, member-supported corporation that serves the economic, community, workforce, transportation, and business development needs of ten parishes in Northwest Louisiana, which include Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, and Webster.

Workforce Development

The Coordinating & Development Corporation (CDC) stands as a representative of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Our experienced and qualified staff provides a variety of services to employers and job seekers.

Community Development

CDC helps Louisiana communities get funding for improving infrastructure and quality of life, including street repairs and water facilities, and offers services like Funding Referrals and Disaster Recovery Grant Assistance.

Economic Development

CDC’s Division of Economic Development helps communities and businesses in our region with their economic growth. They focus on activities that are likely to bring both measurable and qualitative changes to the economy.

Louisiana Watershed Initiative

The Louisiana Watershed Initiative (LWI) coordinates floodplain management across different levels of government. Experts provide advice to build a foundation of information, projects, policies, standards, and guidance.

District Projects:

DeSoto Parish Air Industrial Park Infrastructure Improvements

The Coordinating & Development Corporation’s role in this project resulted in substantial investment and new jobs:

  • Applied for and obtained a $700,000 U. S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant for infrastructure improvements in the industrial park.
  • Applied for and obtained a $1,031,000 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant (LCDBG) for infrastructure improvements in the industrial park.
  • Provided administration services for the EDA and LCDBG grants and assisted MB Industries, a new company creating at least 158 new jobs.
  • Partially paid for aerial photographs of the construction.
  • Worked with the project engineer to develop a Master Plan.
